pinion yoke
pinion yoke
Greetings!
I have one GM 10 bolt 8.5” rearend from ’81 Blazer and I’d like to find out what pinion yoke it has.
How do I do that? I want to know if it’s 1310, 1330 or even 1350. What must I measure to find out the type of my pinion yoke?
Thank you!

I know for a fact it is not a 1350 and as I remember the 1330 was usually found on Fords. I think it is a 1310 but not positive.

I'd also guess a 1310 providing it's even a spicer style u-joint. There's a slim chance it's a 1330 and a very little chance it's a 1350.

Picture 2 and 6 are the dimensions you are looking for.
That's a 1330 or a 1350 based on the length.
Although picture 2 looks like it's wide enough for a 1350, I think it's still a 1330.
What are you trying to do with the yoke? It won't fit on a 7.5" diff. Since you know what the diff is out of, just go down to your local parts store and buy a u-joint for that model or buy a 1330 and a 1350. If the 1350 doesn't fit then you know it's a 1330 and take back the 1350.

What I’m planing to do with the yoke is as follows:
Finally I’ve found something stronger than stock 7.5 rearend and that’s the one on the picture. It’s a 10 bolt 8.5” rearend from some ’81 Blazer. I’m planning to renew it completely, install new Eaton Detroit truetrac differential 30 spline, 3.23 transmission, new Superior 30 spline axles, solid pinion spacer, weld the tubes and then install this rearend into my ’86 Camaro. As I’m right about to order new 1350 driveshaft, I was wondering if I also have to change the pinion yoke... I know it sounds odd, but keep in mind that I come from Europe, where there is no local part stores, where one could just walk in and buy parts for american cars. That’s why I have to be very careful with all this acquiring, because every mistake I make costs me a lot of money and 3 moths of waiting. I sometimes feel like Jamaica bobsled team
) Here in EU it’s really difficult to get some decent parts for such cars.
Regards!

Their are u-joints available to mix and match different yolks and driveshafts. But really theirs no point in ordering a 1350 driveshaft if you have a smaller 1330 yolk...
what yolk are you running off the tranny?
