I got a 89' rs which was orignally a V-6 im putting a TH350 trans and a 350ci motor in it, ive heard the V-6 rear ends are strong and i believe the come with 3.4something gears, would the rear end handle the motor? or what would be a good gear ratio? ive heard different thing i was just seeing if i could get some feedback from camaro owners, thanks

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Some 6-cyl cars, especially the stick-shift ones, came with good gears; 3.42, some of them. 3.23 are pretty common also. Probably will be 3.23 at best in 89; might be 3.08.
As far as strength, there is no difference whatseover between the rear in a 6-cyl car and the one in a V8 car. They are identical in every way.
If it matters to you what gears you have, take off the cover and look.
