great...bad reviews for billet servo's?
stock 87 350TPI with bolt ons and 3.23 stock posi
had my 700r4 rebuilt 20,000 ago after torque converter explosion, had transgo manual/automatic shift kit installed, corvette servo, 13 vein pump, modified govenor, kevlar bands and 1 extra friction plate in 4th gear, and slightly higher stall converter, and B&M 2/3 throttle kickdown valve... shifts were great but then of course trans broke in. the trans still shifts good 1-2 is pretty good but not as strong as i would like it to be, also the 2-3 shift isnt like the 1-2shift at all!! i want that lol and the 4th gear shift is nausiating, i cant shift into 4th untill 55mph due to the modified govener but i can shift 5000+ and hold the gear to any RPM. i didnt have a trans cooler so for like 10,000 miles i noticed a big change in shifts when car was running at 185-200 degrees and trans was heated up (especially in traffic) i then installed a B&M 24,000 gvw trans cooler and shifts stayed consistent. also added trans temp gauge now never gets above 180. i wanted harder shifts so i got this....
wake up kit for 700r4
fairbanks 1-2-3 shift 35% larger than corvette billet servo
fairbanks 50% larger than stock 4th gear billet servo
.500 boost valve
low/reverse boost valve
2 gallons of raptor hipo green racing trans fluid
deep chrome pan i believe 2 extra quarts
but now i hear alot of negative feedback about billet servos etc... something about to hard of shifts and slow release of bands due to the billets larger surface area and im pissed lol spent something like 300 for all this including fluid and deep pan. i hate hearing all this after spending the money on parts u think would help. im just not satisifed with the corvette servo/transgo shift kit i guess especially with the 2-3 shift and overdrive shift. i really want to improve those the most, i cant get the tires to churp in 3rd ever not even when new but i can in the 1-2 shift when its wet out or goin around a corner. I WANT FIRMER SHIFTS!! tell me i didnt waste my $ and my new parts are going to help
also with cooler during winter trans temp reads 100 maybe highest...is it bad to mash the pedal at the trans temp? a cold temp trans say after 5 min after start up...would it be bad to mash the pedal also for the trans to shift hard?
