4th gen T-5 questions

I want to do an auto to 5 speed swap but I am turboing my v6 right now so I doubt a third gen T-5 will last long in the car. My questions are: is the T-5 from a 4th gen any different/stronger than the third gen one? Also, is swapping that tranny into my car any different than swapping in a third gen T-5? Thanks

Look at some pics on eBay or something.

One picture is worth a thousand words.

Re: 4th gen T-5 questions

The only real diff is the t5 for a 90 and newer is a wc t-5 (higher torque load)
The NWC t-5 will hold about 270 lbs of torque where the wc t-5 will hold about 320 depending on which version you have. the wc is better. But I have used my t-5 wc for abot a year and it lived just fine behind my 377 pushing 450hp and about 375lb of torque. so you be the judge there are mods you can do to increase the torque capacity. Just make sure you get the correct case and input shaft for your application
