Re: question about T5 transmissions
No, the 82-83's had Super T10 4 speeds, I think. The T5 started in late '83, and continued until 1987 in our cars. Then for the '88 and up cars, the T5 was upgraded to hold a bit more power, and called the World Class T5.
Re: question about T5 transmissions
so a v6 2.8L with a manuel transmission. doesn't have the T5 or the world class T5 in it? I plan on dropping in a 350 TPI in it and the world class T5 transmission is the best to go with to handle the power?

Re: question about T5 transmissions
your best bet would be a T56 6 Speed from a 94-97 LT1 Firebird or Camaro, or an aftermarket T5 from G-Force, Tremec, or Richmond.
Re: question about T5 transmissions
Im assuming that the world class t5 is a beefed up version of the t5, and what difference will there be with the G-Force, Tremec, or Richmond aftermarket t5 transmissions over the stock t5. which would you recommend out of them 3 and where would i be able to find one? the reason why im asking is i have an 85 ta auto v6 and i want to swap motor and tran out to a 5.7 tpi with manuel trans. im assuming the rear will need to be changed too because i believe my rear is limited slip. only one tire spins when burning out. if you have any tips on how to make this possible and what parts i need will be great.
