t5 and bellhousing
I just recently bought an 87 camaro and am doin the 350 swap. I hope I'm not in the wrong forum to ask if anyone has had a hard time findin the t5's and chevy bellhousings? Also, should i look for a t5 or is there another trans I can look for. (want manual since car is already a manual) And I live near detroit, Michigan and was wondering if anyone knows where to get the full trans or pieces cheap

Seriosly consider a Tremec TKO 600 transmission. Or a Tremec t56 trans. The t5 trans is a light duty trans. Some people love the t5 but if you plan on ANY power upgrades go with the Tko. T5 are rated to a very conservative 300 ft.pnds. torque. The tko 600 is rated to 600 ft.pnds. I guess for now to get it all running and de - bugged the t5 would be okay. At least you would have a manual and figure out where you want to go with your hot rod!

I believe in the 13 years since he posted , the OP has likely got it all worked out by now , one way or the other .
