i have recently bought an auto 1985 chevy camaro when you push it to the the floor from a stop or slow roll there is a loud thump ,it sound like it come from under the pasenger side near the motor and thre is a sound under you like a thump and the car vibrates the shift **** feels like it will fall through the floor and you will roll off without it.does any one have a suggestion or a simalar prob.thanx

 

What's wrong? First thing to check, transmission mount, Probably broken and allowing trans to lift and " thump " on floor, very common in our cars. I replaced mine with poly mount, no more problem. Hope this helps.

definately the trans mount, just fixed this problem. it cost like $7 from the auto parts store, they had it in stock, easy fix. hope this helps.

 

trans mount. My friends 83 w/ T5 busted the mount while driving, and when you floored it it would go BOOOOM and shake the stick so bad you thought the car was coming apart.
Your transmission is a 700R4 auto unless someone changed it out to some older 3 spd. You don't know what engine is in there?

 

I agree with the guys above. I had to change the trans mount in every third gen I have ever owned.
