NEED help with 700r4
the 3/4 apply servo is stuck in the case. this isn't my first rodeo... so i'm doing it as I normally would. i took the snap ring off the cover, the cover will not come out of the bore. i even LIGHTLY tapped on the servo apply pin from inside the case and still no progress! does this mean that my case is trashed? TIA
Re: NEED help with 700r4
You must take out the blue seal in the cover first, or it will never come out! Pull down on the seal using a scribe, cut it, and grab one end with a pair of pliers, pull down until it is out completely, now pull the cover off.
Re: NEED help with 700r4
Hello, i am trying to figure out why my trans crossmember will not bolt up to my frame rails, trans seems to be long and not sure what to do. Thinking of drilling new holes in the crossmember, Any advice out there

If the cross member came out of there it should be able to go back in. Have you looked over other parts of your install to see what is keeping the holes from lining up? You might have worn or shot motor mounts that when you removed the cross member the engine moved.
I've used a large punch(11" or so) or two as an alignment tool. By putting it into the hole at an angle and prying the cross member you can get the second bolt started then get the other side started. This will allow the other two bolts to get started. Then you can snug it all down .
Pix are worth a thousand words. You might snap and post some where we can see what might be holding you back.
And you might start a new thread or get a mod to move this to a new thread so you get more exposure. Good luck!
