th350 trannies came in thrree different lengths for 2 wheel drive 1969 to 1986
for the 700r4 you need a th350 with the 9" tail
find them in some wagons and in all the trucks from 73-up
then you dont need to change driveshaft
some of the 70s wagons are the 12" tail, but not so common, so watch out
a th400 will take the 700r4 shaft but you gotta convert to the 32 spline 400 slip yoke
some 400 used a bolted on yoke, mainly in trucks and vans
but you can use a slip on one just the same on them, no difference other than a threaded hole in the end of the tailshaft for the bolted on ones

Re: 700r4 to th-350 of 400
thats helps alot!! thank you very much.... my local parts store has a th-350 streetfighter from tci that a customer ordered for 1800 bucks.. he never came and got it so he offered it to me for 450! im thinking yea.. trading out my 700r4 and this 350 is brand new lol... so i may have to find a diff tail shaft depending on which one he has... other than that is everything else pretty much a straight shot? like the trans lines and kickdown cable and crossmember mount?

You will also have to get the B&M or Hurst kit to attach the torque arm to the TH350 or TH400.
