Whats wrong with my transmission?

My transmission has leaked about a quart of fluid a couple of times now. I cant figure out where the leak is coming from, I think that the fluid might be coming from the overflow tube on the top of the transmission because the whole side is wet with fluid. I have not been driving it hard, and I wonder if the transmission is slipping. It also will only go 30 mph in first gear. It is a 700R4. Thanks for the help

did u overfill the transmission? maybe the filter is clogged and making it overheat wich boils the fluid out of the tube? make sure you check the level of fluid regularly since it is leaking so bad.

Re: Whats wrong with my transmission?

It has done this twice now, i refilled it with fluid the first time, to the right amount. That could be possible that the filter is clogged or maybe a fluid line inside the transmission. Thanks for the help.
