Turbo 350 linkage question
Turbo 350 linkage question
I picked up a TH350 from the JY last year. Fluid didn't smell burnt, filter & pan looked very clean. Anyway, just after I put the tranny in I noticed that the internal linkage came loose (no clicking between gears when turning outside linkage). I removed the pan and found that the "rooster comb" was not riding on the roller and that the "s" clip was no longer being held in the linkage. I thought I took care of this by tightening the internal linkage, but evidently not. After driving for ~ 500 miles the tranny would not come out of forward gear (no matter what the gear indicator said). Took the pan down again today and found the same problem, the internal "s" clip was laying in the pan and the "rooster comb" was loose and cocked sideways. Please see attached pic. The red circle is around the "s" pin I found in the pan, the green line shows where the "rooster comb" was and the yellow circle is the nut that I assume I need to tighten to fix this problem?? I tightened it once before but maybe I didn't tightened it enough?? What do I do to keep this from coming apart again. Any help would be appreciated.
