I have a 1984 Trans-Am. The engine/drivetraine, I'm told, is from an 86 Camaro. Here are the problems:

1. Car jerks hard from park to drive or any forward gear.. doesnt do it going into reverse.

2. The RPM's bounce about 500 rpm downward a lot when I am in drive, but not so much in over drive.

3. I am pretty sure the idle speed is way too high (its right about 1000rpm)

4. The speedo is off by about 10mp in OD.. not sure about the lower gears.. it seems more accurate in 1 - 3.. (I.E: 45mph on gauge = 55mph in actuality)

5. When its cold it will sometimes "bog" when I hit the gas, unless I ease onto it slowly.

Basically, I was wondering if these conditions are most likely connected or if there are multiple problems. The car doesn't slip when shifting through any gears, but again, has some problems with RPM bouncing when shifting down.. like it cant decide which gear it wants to be in.. Oh, and the other day I was idleing in a parking lot and it stalled.. thats a first. It has never done that before. Anyway, the thing runs damn good when accelerating, but the biggest problems are the idle and shifting from park to a forward gear. Any help would be much appreciated!!
