open to posi3.08 to 3.?

ok ihave a 91 camaro rs 5spd with an open 3.08, i want to know i have recentsome 3.73s in my s10 for fun im only 17 soo i can do rearends but i dont know much past things like would it make a difference going from 3.08 to 3.73 or i have a set of 3.42s im basically saying is there a noticable difference between 3.42 and 3.73 and once i do chooos my gears and spool. what will i have to do iv heard the speedo will be off? ?? alittle info please

i also meant to ask since im going form a stage 2 carrier to a stage 3 what else will i probably havet o do?

You will also have to change the differential (thats the open or posi-unit the gears are bolted to) because the 3.08 and down gears use a different one than the 3.23 and up gears. Yes you will also have to change the speedo gears in the transmission.
Its not something a newbie can do, as there are precise tolerences and clearances that must be exact or the rearend will whine and make noise, or worse, break. Take it to a professional.

itd be much easier to rip out a whole rearend from an iroc, thats what im gonna do.

yeah i was thinking about it mine is a stage 2 open im going to a stage 3 posi so i realized that but my dad works for a performance shop so i know about backlash and some stuff like that and for what i dont do he always checks my work. the the whole thing of putting a whole new rearend in it there arnt many in the yards around here acutally none to be exact and money is an issue I found this posi for 20 bucks from a good friend of mines dad.
