700R4 Build $$
Hey i was wondering what should i expect to spend on a performance rebuild for my 700R4. Do most places have like packages that come with a higher stall converter and shift kit? New to auto tranny build ups. just wondering what i can expect to pay.

i gave dana at probuilt automatics a call and he set me up with a kit that can handle around 650hp. i think the kit was around $550-$575. i just ordered my converter from him so i should get that ths week. that was about $700 i think. it really depend on what company you use for your converter. give him a call, hes a really nice guy and really know his stuff.

yea i read in another post that he does good work, but i'm pretty much looking for like a local shop to do the work. i wouldn't know where to start on a tranny, plus i'm just not up for the headache. my cousin had a 700r4 rebuilt nice for 850, but i don't know if he's pulling my chain or not. know any good shops in western newyork that you've heard of?

just so you know you can get a high stall torque converter for like 40 bucks at a junkyard by pulling a compatible lower capacity torque converter off a car. they usually come on the smaller engines. unfortunately i dont know what car to pull one from but someone here might.
