Aftermarket T56
i have a aftermarket T56 in my 86 camaro. I am having a problem with the clutch pedal. One of my friends was telling me that i may need to use an adjustable T.O bearing or shim the bearing. Has anyone needed to do this that is running the aftermarket tranny. I am using all stock 3rd gen pedals and master along with lakewood scattershield and the adapter plate that bolts to it. i heard that using the plate brings the T.O out to far and needs to be adjusted closer to engage the pressure plate. Any feedback would be great. thanks

i didn't check the distance of the TO bearing when i installed it. a friend told me that might be my issue that i am having. i also have some play in the pedal itself so i just ordered new bushings for the pedal so i will see if that helps it out or not.

Might be your pivot stud, when I went to a Centerforce clutch in my vette it was horrible until it was pointed out to me there was an orange peice of paper outlining the proper length of the stud, I bought an adj stud and helped a ton. Still not totaly happy with the clutch but it def engages way better after changing out the stud.

the problem that i am having is when the clutch pedal is engaged i only have about a 1/2 of travel in the pedal before the clutch is fully disengaged. i am running a mcleod clutch using the t5 set up.
