opinions on summit gears
i am planning on doing a gear swap in my 91 firebird L03 soon and i was wondering if anyone has used summits ring and pinion gear sets and what their experience has been with them. the reason i ask is because i am on a budget and summit has the cheapest gear sets out there, but that makes me a little leary of their quality. i would prefer richmonds but they are more expensive and i have heard that they whine alot.

Re: opinions on summit gears
richmond makes a set of street gears that don't whine like the "soft" drag gears.

Re: opinions on summit gears
I had Summit gears professionally installed for my 66 Mustang in 1999 and they were loud and whiney. Don't know about their gears today, though. They may have a different supplier.
