Anyone on here have a problem with their T56 leaking? Well mine is and I’m having a hell of a time finding out where it is coming from. It’s defiantly leaking from the tail housing somewhere. It only leaks while driving, not when parked. It was leaking around the seal of the output shaft but I replaced the seal when I rebuilt it. I think it may still have a very small leak around this seal but I don’t think this is the primary cause. I had the tranny tailhousing modified to work with my mechanical speedometer and I think it may be leaking around the sleave that was installed. Anyone here that had the speedometer mod done have problems with it leaking? If I can determine that this is where it is leaking what can I use to stop the leak, would RTV or JB Weld work? Anybody have any other ideas where it may be leaking? Is this a common problem with this tranny? Any good ways to detect where the leak is coming from?
