It's too wide.
A truck 12 bolt isn't the same as a car 12 bolt.
Like any other non third gen diff, there's no easy way to attach a torque arm to it.
It will have a 6 bolt rim pattern.

By the time you're done trying to convert it to fit, it will be cheaper to just buy a bolt in diff.

i started out on trucks, trucks are my specialty, i made myself learn so muh about them and i have owned over 100 of them now since 95 most all of from ''67-87, i have had everything, blazers, duallies, panel deliveries, burbs, 1.5 and 2 tons, and so on

randys ring and pinion info is almost 100% correct, but a few things are not accurate

asis the case with virtually all the sites out there with axle application info



3/4 ton did not use the 12 blt 8.875 axle

3/4 ton are 8 lug wheels hubs, as are 1 ton

34 ton used the 14 bolt FF 10.5" from 73-up


and the 14 bolt SF 9.5" from 81-up

some 88 and up 14 bolt SF 9.5" were 5 and 6 lug

but uncommon

if its a 12 bolt cover then its a 12 ton truck

all 12 bolt were 5 bolt or 6 bolt wheels hubs depending on the year and if it was 4x2, or 4x4

12 bolt was last used in 1982 under trucks and 72 in cars

although car 12 bolt are a different axle than the truck ones, they dont even share the same diff housing shape or pinion gear stem diameter

truck pinion stem diameter are smaller than the others, real tiny

a weak point, at only 1.625"



if it is 6 lug then it is one of the following trucks:

2wd before 1971 = C-10 and C-1500

1/2 ton 4x4 any year= K-10 and K-1500

88-up 3/4 ton light duty= C and K-2500

if you were to use a truck axle then i would get a dana 60 rear from under a 72 and older 2wd 3/t ton in which are very comon and are ratio 3.54, 4.10, and 4.56 you can get them alll day long for 150 bucks and almost every one of them are POW-R-LOK equipped in which is badass

but they are all 8 lug full floaters so you would need to convert it from the hubs out

so a chrysler dana 60 would be easier, but ratios are who knows what

and even so none of these axles will go under a TG F body

unless you are a good fabricator/planner/welder and have a fat wallet to buy special axle shafts and so much more

Plus f-bodys have coil springs and the truck will be a leaf spring set up.
