Decided to change the rear dif oil last night, and now the rear end chatters like crazy while turning. I added the limited slip additive when I changed it and it drove quiet for a few miles.....now when turning its hoping and chattering. Is it time for a rebuild? Im going to try dropping oil again and trying without the additive. Any ideas?

Well I dropped the oil again and refilled without the additive. No luck.....Still chatters It dosent start making noises untill it gets warm. Cold I can turn on a dime and not a noise from it......get it warm and it sounds like its crussing rocks back there. Mabey gonna try two bottles of the additive and see what that does. Wierd thing is that before I dropped it the first time it never made a noise EVER. The oil I dropped out was dirty but had no filings or shavings. Ring and pinion werent missing any chunks or showed any wear.

 

mine did that too it went away after awhile tho, see what happens once the fluid gets mixed with the additive for awhile
