700R4 power rating? ??

Ok, so I am in the process of getting my body ready for my engine, I plan on building a low- mild performance 383. I want about 450FWHP. I already have a fully "built" 10 bolt rear with all performance parts and done everything you could do to a 10bolt... I am now ready to set up the tranny. I decided to call several tranny shops to see what THEY could to to help me out. Ive never been turned down so many times offering them business. I told them what i wanted to do with the car and they told me to keep my tranny how it is, maybe get a higher stall converter and shift kit if i want to make it better.
I told them that i plan on having MAX 500FWHP and that this would be mainly a street driven car. With a few times a year taking it to the track. This is not my daily driver and I would like to keep it an automatic since that seems to be most cost effective. I am building on a budget. I also told them that my tranny was recently rebuilt a few thousand miles ago. BEFORE i bought the car. I saw the recipet he had. So basically they told me not to do anything and that the tranny can hold the power and that the 700R4s are GOOD STRONG transmissions...
Can anyone give me more advice then what they had to offer? I called 3 places and all gave me the same response, I feel that they didnt want to do it... BTW I didnt tell them that i was on a budget.

You will fry that tranny if it was rebuilt to stock spec's. It needs to be built to handle the HP. Check out Probuilt automatics I have heard many good things about him.
