Massive shudder

I'm getting a buttload of shudder whenever the torque lock engages. Kinda feels to me as if it's engaging and dis-engaging. What would cause this?

I have a fully rebuilt 700 with trans-go parts and an Edge 2800 lock-up converter.

Re: Massive shudder

If it feels like you're driving over a cattle guard, it's probably the clutch slipping in your converter, something's not right in there. While its shaking, touch the brake pedal. That should disengage the clutch, if it stops shuddering, there you go.

I'll give that a shot. It'll be about a week though. I'm waiting on my new injectors.

Re: Massive shudder

It's back on the road.
Between 40 and 55 is when the shudder's the worst. 60+ it's not noticeable.
Touch the brakes and the shudder goes away.
I've tried different gears at the shudder rpm and have no shudder.
This leads me to believe either what redliterunner said or the TCC solenoid.

Any thoughts?

Re: Massive shudder

Well I went to the trans shop that actually did the build on my tranny. They took it for a test drive and told me that it was not tranny related. What they did tell me was that it felt like a miss in the engine. He said it was more pronounced due to the smaller diameter converter and the rebuild/shift kit.
So far i've pulled 4 plugs and they all look literally brand new. Hmm. Gots to check the other 4.

Re: Massive shudder

I pulled the pass side. Looks like the trans guy may be right. None of these looked brand new. 4, 6, and 8 had a little tan color but cylinder 2 was black and wet. Didn't smell like anything. I guess I'll be posting in tech.
