Help- Rear End Noise
Hi all, I hope somebody can give me a clue what this might be.
I've got an 86 firebird, 305, 5spd and I've had this clunking noise that originally started as I'd be getting off a highway (generally as I was in neutral getting to a stop sign or a turn) while the drivetrain was hot (after being on the highway for 40 minutes or so). Changed the tranny fluid (it was original) and I don't hear/feel it so bad, but I'm pretty sure noise is coming from my rear end. Now as i'm on an exit ramp curving at about 25mph I hear like a rough clicking noise (almost like gears hitting each other?) and at slow speeds with my wheels only slightly turned I hear it too (doesnt seem like i'd be asking the posi clutch to do any work). Again, this is only when the drivetrain is hot.
Any suggestions appreciated.

drive the back up 2 ramps and take your diff cover off(looks like a pumpkin..) check for chiped teeth and your oil
