My camaro is a 1990, with the stock rear end.I want a 3.73 rear end, i just want to get 1 out of another car, but i'm not sure what vehicle or year it would have it in there. Would a blazer or a S10 around that year have that gear?

 

Some 4 cyl trucks had 3.73 or even 4.10 gears. 82 and up are the choices I believe..

 

The gears and carrier can be pulled out of another 7.5" 10 bolt and put into yours. Your 1990 will have 28 spline axles so you'll need to find a newer carrier that also uses 28 spline axles. Previous to 1990, the 10 bolt diffs use 26 spline axles. You need to be also aware of the gear series. The smaller number ratio gears such as 2.73 etc are a 2 series gear. The higher number ratio gears are a 3 series. You can't put a 3 series gear on a 2 series carrier.

As for the entire diff, no, you can't pull the entire diff out from under an S10 and put it into a third gen. It's the wrong width and only third/fourth gens have a casting to mount the torque arm to the diff.

 

I just want to take the whole rear end from another vehicle and swap it with mines.

 

Then you need to find a rear from a thirdgen F-body. You could use a fourthgen rear if you were willing to put up with a slight difference in width.
