3.23 to a 3.73 rear end w/ t56

i recently put a t56 with the .5 6th gear in my car. i have a 85 camaro with a 3.23 rear end gear. the gear is on it's way out and i'm looking to upgrade. what is the best option for a rear end. can i simply put a 3.73 ring and pinion in place of the old 3.23 ring and pinion? any ideas on what else to do.

Yes you can, but i'd go up to 4.11's if it were me. That .5 top gear will make for a nice cruiser even with DEEP gears.

thanks for the idea. would it be better to get a new ring and pinion and install it or just look around for a whole new rear end assembly with a 3.73 gear ratio. the backlash is what sounds like its tricky to put the new ring and pinion in.
