Hi, guys. I was wondering if anyone has swapped in a 4l60e trans. I want to know how easy the swap was and what electronic controller was used to set up the trans. B&M and TCI have 4l60e trannies and electronic controllers and I may buy one from them. I just wanted to see what kind of performance these trannies had.

Re: 4l60E

The gear train is about identical. The 700R4 requires the TV cable and the 4L60E requires a computer. Both when built right handle the same HP. Stick with the 700R4. The stand alone computers start at $750 & up from what I have been told.

Re: 4l60E

They are no stronger than a 700, as they are basically identical. As Pro Built stated, the only difference is electronic control. A 700r4 is also known as a 4L60. The 4L60E just means electronic. Thus, you will be buying all the same upgrades, plus a $750+ dollar controller.
- Stay far, far away from B&M and TCI. Neither company builds a quality performance overdrive transmission.

do a search, much of this has been covered many times.

I disagree with that statement, for under $200.00, I can buy a PCM from a 1993-1995 TBI truck that will run the PCM, all the wiring I need, AND the tunning components to make shift point changes (Moates G1, Moates Burn1 and 27C512 flash chips). You will need to mount a TPS and hook up a MAP sensor. You will also need the DRAC from the Chevy Truck/Van/SUV that the PCM comes from. The only other things you need are some wiring, PCM connectors, and the transmission harness.
