REAR END SWAP ???

O.K. , have a chance for a free rear end . i now have a lo3 eng., t-5 , 3.08 rear gear . the new [used] rear is disc. brake , wich i like . but it is 2.73 gears . i know it would be a little more slugigish , on take off . can anyone tell me if its acceptable for a daily driver ??? i know about speedo gears and such , my car is a cruiser , not a racer . most of my driveing is highway stuff , i know some out there must have done the same . please some feedback .

The new rear would be fine as a DD, especially on the highway. The only real benefit may be the discs (and maybe a bit of economy).

Re: REAR END SWAP ???

for the price i would just rough it out and put in over drive on hight way with the 2.73 rear it takes alot of rpm to acomplish the speed of 70 plus mph than the 308. you would be better just to stick with the 3.08
