how to get trans to hold gears longer
stock 92 auto 305 firebird, stock trans and gears, powerstick exhaust
under normal driving it shifts at a low rpm (1500-1800) i know its supposed to do that gas mileage and all but how can i get it to shift at 3500-4000 all the time. obviously manual shift the auto and thats what i do now. how can i get it to hold longer. torque converter, gears, internal trans mods. opinions? its a weekend car and i like to hear the high rpm exhaust note.

Re: how to get trans to hold gears longer
adjust the line pressure. you can do this internally. but adjusting the TV cable will do the same.
the transmission wont last as long but it will do what you want
