Driveshaft yoke
I got a 2004r and a boltin moser 12 bolt rearend for my 82 ta (both new). I had a driveshaft made at a local shop. he gave me the yoke and I slid it in (tapped it at times) and it bottomed out about 3/4 of an inch before the seal. so I pulled it out 1 inch and measured as instructed. my question is between the seal on the tranny and the yoke I have 1 3/4 inch of smooth shaft showing. is this too much? it just looks like too much. the tail shaft sticks out 5/8 so really only about a 1 1/4 inch of yoke is "hallow". any opininons, thanks

Re: Driveshaft yoke
I take it that you are trying to measure driveshaft length?
Your driveshaft is going to stroke forward the farthest when your rear suspension if at full jounce (bottomed out, axle up).
I have about .5" on mine at ride height, but my car is lowered.
1" is too much for a torque arm car. The yoke will be supported much better if you put it in farther.

Re: Driveshaft yoke
No, I already had my driveshaft made and it's installed. my problem/question is it looks like the yoke should be in further in the tranny. from the seal of the shaft to the yoke is about 1 3/4". so what your saying is If I see one inch of the slip that is too much? what is the potential of running it that way? I feel like the guy who made my driveshaft screwed up but I don't know enough about how it should be to determine.
