700r4 problem.
I got a rebuilt transmission last year. For a few days, the new transmission was only shifting at high rpms. After a few days, it went back to what I consider factory normal shifting. It stayed this way for a year meaning it was shifting perfectly fine just like the old tranny did. I just had the rear main seal replaced this week, and after I got the car back today, it is again shifting at high rpms again. When I say high for both times, I mean almost like wot shift points and feel, but at normal/part throttle.
Why would it be doing this? Why did it "go away" and go back to normal and is it likely to do so again after a few days? For what it's worth, I adjusted the TV cable although I had little hope that that would solve anything and it did nothing. From the little I was able to test, wot feels about right in shifting although I was only able to test 1 or 2 gears this way.
You know, from a dead stop sometimes, it almost feels like it's in the wrong gear, like starting in 2nd or somewhere between 1 and 2? That doesn't make a lot of sense, maybe it just feels like that because it's acting up?
Not really sure, but it's almost like it is either in a gear it shouldn't be or thinks it's in a gear other than the one it really is in. Course if it's just not shifting properly, that could cause it to feel that way I suppose.
Any thoughts on this problem and if it will right itself like it did before?

Re: 700r4 problem.
The governer was sticking. I guess it managed to unstick itself originally and when they changed the tranny fluid when they dropped the tranny to replace the rear main seal it got itself stuck again, so I got a nice new free governer.
