best stall for me
Hello everyone,
I currently have an 88 Iroc with the 5.7 and automatic. The car is mostly stock except for the distributor, plugs, wires, airfoil, and screens removed from the MAF. When i initially put the car in gear it shifts hard but when im driving it shifts smoothly but also high. Is this normal? I mean it can go into redlining in a heartbeat. Yet with it doing this it still feels like its sluggish off the line. I remember having a 305 that lit the tires yet this one wont. Ive considered installing a transgo shift kit and a different stall. Any thoughts on which would be the best or even if this would remedy the situation?
Thanks,
Daryl

If I was you i would start with adjusting the TV cable (kickdown cable). I had the same problem with mine when i got it, it affects your shifting real bad. If you want to change convertors i would try an s-10 one as a cheap alternative, it is about 300 or 400 rpm's above stock. That should help off the line.
