Fluid for T-5???

I'm wondering what most of you guys on here are running in your T-5 trannies. If you have any suggestions as to what i should run in mine. just let me know. I've heard that you can run oil in them?? is it bad or better for tranny life?? any help and insight would be appreciated.

Re: Fluid for T-5???

on a world class unit I've heard gear oil is hard on the dog ears or something like that and can cause premature wear on the nylon synchros ... On the non world class I can't remember what gear oil hurts but I remember something about it.

Re: Fluid for T-5???

On the '88 and newer world class T5's, use ATF or synthetic ATF only. For the older non world class T5's, you can use 90 weight gear oil, or ATF.
