tv cable question
ok i just swaped from tbi to carb. before when i had the bracket connected to where it is soppused to be, the tv cable was a little tight with the throttle closed. when i changed intakes and all i had to move the bracket up to the second bolt hole on the drivers side. and moving that forward created a lot of play in the cable. so my question is, is it soppused to be tight wheb the throttle is closed? i just need to get it close so i can drive it somewhere and have them make it right.

Re: tv cable question
Did you get a Carb TV cable or still using the TBI one. Im not sure but you may need to check on the differences. What bracket are you using?

Re: tv cable question
If I am not mistaken I was informed that with the throttle closed ,there should be 1/4 to 3/8 of and inch pull on the tv cable. The thing is the best adjustment is with the throttle in the WOT. It should be adjusted to as tight as possible with the throttle in the WOT position. I have Lokar adjustable cables and what I did was jam the throttle at WOT and use the fine adjustment on the TV cable to get it tight. You do not have this fine adjustment with stock cables and it is a nice feature. They say you should not be able to pull the TV cable out any at all at WOT . I noticed a difference in shifts even if I was able to pull it out between an 1/8 and a 1/4 inch at WOT.

Re: tv cable question
yeah i am using the stock braket just moved it forward as i said above. with it right now it won't "self adjust." and i can pull it about an inch when it is at wot. i will try to space it out so there is little to no extra at wot. thanks for the quick replies.

Re: tv cable question
Then the bracket needs 2B farther back towards the Firewall. This will shorten the outter sleeve and draw more cable out. Then it will click out on the proper adjusting procedure. www.TVMADEEZ.com and go to the TV 101 section. Very descriptive and easy to understand.
