newbie question
newbie question
I've been looking to buy a camaro, both of the cars i looked at this weekend had tranny/clutch issues. both of them needed slave cylinders, so my question is ware can i get a cable clutch kit for a 3rd gen 5.0, t5 camaro?

Re: newbie question
Cylinders don't use cables. You wouldn't want that crap anyway, that's for cheeeep flivvers like Frod products and front-wheel drive cars.
Best thing to do is to just go to GM and buy the whole assembly. It comes in a box with the master cyl, slave cyl, reservoir, and lines; all pre-assembled, filled with fluid, and pre-bled. Bolt up and go.
What makes you think both of these cars need slave cyls? I've only had them for 20 some-odd years now, and the ONLY slave cyl that ever went bad on me, basically just popped one day. If it didn't do that, it's probably not bad. Is this the current owner (same owner, both cars, maybe?) telling you that? Same guy change out both clutches, maybe even? in that case, don't believe it.

Re: newbie question
I know the first car needed slave cylinders b/c we jacked one up and the cable coming out of the slave only moved 1/4 inch, and it was pissing fluid, the other unless the petal was on the carpet the car would be moving as if the clutch was all the way out, this one may have had other issues. i was thinking a cable setup would easily fix this problem, and would have less parts to break. And i hate putting in slave cylinders. i never knew they made pre assembled and bled units tho.
edit: cars are not the same owner, they're in different states about 80 miles away
