i have a 89 trans am with a 9bolt with 3.27 gears and im looking at upgrading to the 3.70s but im worried they wont be enough . im just planning on driving to the strip and playing a little. the car has a 330hp 350 with a 700r4 at the track im currently crosing the traps at about 4300rpms. o yea im running a 26" tire

 

More specifics on the engine combo? 3.70 is usually a pretty happy gear for most decent small blocks. Anything shorter (numerically higher) is usually TOO MUCH gear unless its a pretty wild engine... you'll probably trap between 5000-5300 with that gear in 3rd gear with a 26" tire.
