I was wondering if you could use a t5 from a v6 and just change the bell housing. its the only used t5 i could get my hands on and thats after a year of searching. plus i like the 4.03 first gear.

It can work but its more trouble than its worth. And with the higher gear it will be much weaker. Its not recommended at all.

 

You don't need to change the bell. The V6 T5 will bolt up to the V8 bell housing. Hmm, maybe that is what you meant, change the 6 bell to an 8 bell.

The input shaft splines are different between the two. So need to get a V8 clutch disk made with a V6 center. Folks on here have done it, can't recall who made up the disk.

thanks for the info, i was wondering why it had 14 spline. so if i use a v8 bell housing, and the conversion disk, i should be okay? i wish i could have found but like i said, i thats all i could find, i have be looking for a used t5 since last september.
