Torque Converter Lock-up Switch?
Has anyone had any experiance with the converter lock-up switch in the tech articles? Pro's and Con's. It sounds like a simple and effective mod. I am thinking about installing it.

Re: Torque Converter Lock-up Switch?
generally the computer chip will control when and how the converter locks up. that switch is just a cheaper/easier way to get around the ECM. i program my own chips to control how the converter locks up.
with that switch you can lock it up at any speed you want. its good if you have a higher stall and need it to lock up at low speeds while climbing up hills to keep your trans from overheating. thats the only real benefit i see with it. if you have a mild converter or stock, i see no benefit in that mod.
My car runs faster in the 1/4 mile with the converter not locked...so go figure. I program my converter to lockup at wot at 118mph or WAY above my 1/4 trap speed at this point.
cons with that would be if you try braking or let of the gas at speed and forget to disengage the converter. stock programming has the converter unlock during the pressing of the brake or if you get off the gas and start coasting. you dont want it locked up while braking or coasting
