s10 t-5 into an iroc?
im sure this has been asked a 1000 times but i need to know if a t-5 out of a 1999 s-10 with a 2.2 will work with my 90 iroc??? i know its a 350 and all and the trany prolly wont last long but...and is there anyway you can run the hydro clutch??? and what do i do about my electric speedo??
i have heard you can change the tail shaft over to the camaro style and run the v-8 bellhousing is this right or is there no way to hook the two together?

No it won't work. The shifter somes out in the wrong place. The S truck transmission would put the shifter RIGHT THROUGH THE MIDDLE of your radio.
Details...
All of these cars had the hydraulic clutch starting in 84. The S trucks started having it somewhere about the same time IIRC.
The electronic VSS or the cable drive is held in with one screw. Unscrew it, take out the one, put in the other, done. Takes less time to change over than it did to type the instructions.

a '99 S10, be it a 2.2 or a 4.3, won't have a T5 it'll have the little metric turd in it. If it were an older s10 with a t5, as sofa said, the shifter will be in the wrong place, AND it won't have the tq arm mount

ya but you could get the aftermarket relocation bracket that takes the torque arm off the tranny and connects it with the crossmember.

And that would move the shifter back out of the dash and into the console .... how?
It won't work. Pretty much, end of story. The story ends with, it won't work.

Re: s10 t-5 into an iroc?
yes, if you have an factory bird t5 which you can rob the shift rods and tailhousing off of so that you can relocate the shifter, then you can make it work. BUT, you now have more time/effort into it than just buying an f-body take-out, and, as I said, a '99 s truck would not be a T5, it would be a metric isuzu trans.
Also, the last few years of a T5 in an S truck would have had the smaller bellhousing bolt up like that of a mid to late 90's V6 f-body T5.
