I was driving home, and decided to run the car up past 100 ( wanted to see how it did .. bought it a little while ago)

It did fine, I let of the gas and booom* HUGE VIBRATION( and sound like a bunch of rocks in a can) all of a sudden,.. its like the car is shaking itself apart. Now, under 20 mph it didnt do it and i just got it home.

the car was sitting for a while before i bought it. Ill have a chance to look at it in more depth tomorow but

For now opinions, Is it possible one of the clips/etc on the u joint let loose?

I havent Pulled the cover on the rear yet, But tomorow i plan 2

btw guys car has a 10 bolt/700r4/350tpi ( 88 gta)

 

doesnt msle sense that its in the diff if it goes away at lower speeds....cuz its still turning

 

yeah, thats true

it just sounded so nasty but, maybe its the driveshaft ( im looking in the next 20 mins or so)

 

turns out one of the caps for the u joint let loose, and the u joint cap/bearing on one side was gone.. with gouge marks etc


So that would be it lmao


I threw a spare driveshaft i had from another car in, Car is fine now!

 

hows the trans mount?

 

was fine, but its one of the factory rubber ones, i plan on changing it out soon for a poly
