3rd gen to 4th gen rear swap???
Ok Gentlemen, I know everyone ask if a 4th gen rear will fit in a 3rd gen, but will a 3rd gen rear fit into a 4th gen?? I just recently put a Ford 9" into my 87 Iroc, however since then I purchased a 4th gen firebird, is it possible to put the 9" made for the 3rd gen into the 4th gen?? I know there is a width difference, is this going to be a problem?? Any help would be appreciated!!

you should have no problem installing it. I think the issue will be with the wheel and tire selection due to a different backspacing needed. In order to run the stock 4th gen wheels, you may need spacers on the rear in the 4th gen.
