The transmission has been rebuilt, I put a manual valve body in it. But i havn't gotten it to shift. It goes into park reverse and nuetral then in 1st it (feels like 2nd) but it doesn't seem to change after that...any hints?

ps. it seems to be semi engaged in neutral. When i rev high enough the car will move forward a little
it has a revers shift pattern also

Does anyone have an idea on what could fix this?

 

make sure your shifter is adjusted correctly. Take cable of gear selector arm in every gear position and make sure its free. if not look towards shifter/shifter cable issues. May need a multi brand/pattern shifter gear select lever ont he trans. stock/hurst/b&m all use different throws for their shifters

i have a b&m ratchet shifter in it.

 

make sure you have it filled full with trans fluid
