Help installing B&M megashifter
I bought a used mega shifter that came with the shifter only. I am having a harder time getting it set up than I expected. I have two cables that need to be hooked up and only one place to hook some thing to. I believe to have figured out where one of the cables goes as you can see in my picture.
Another problem is the electrical wires. The electrical piece that connected to the stock shifter has 6 wires, and the one on the mega shifter has only 4 spots to connnect a wire to. Which wires do I hook up and which ones do I leave disconnected?
Thanks for the help

Re: Help installing B&M megashifter
you need to get a b&m cable. i'm pretty sure the factory one you have will not work. the other cable is for the steering wheel lock. wire tie it so that it stays all the way in the sleeve.
on the electrical side, the two big wires connect to the neutral safety switch of the shifter and there are 2 wires for the back-up lights(i forget the color) the other two just tape them up(not together) and make sure they don't touch anything else.

Re: Help installing B&M megashifter
I installed a console megashifter about 5 years ago in my third-gen. What I remember is that the cable was about 5' long. The tricky part was the electricals, I had to buy a relay at Radio Shack and you tied off something to do with the steering wheel lock. The instructions spelled this out pretty clearly.
I just checked on the B&M website and you can download the instructions.
The site is www.bmracing.com. Go to shifters -> street shifters -> console megashifter. There is a link for the installation instructions.
Parts can be ordered from Jegs or Summit - get the specific part numbers from the B&M tech line.
Hope this helps.
