91 RS to scrapyard
91 RS to scrapyard
Unfortunately, a few years back my rs was crushed by a fallen tree and the car is pretty much only scrap now. Engine is out for another vehicle but I am wondering if the trans or rear end are worth saving. Car is a 91 rs with 3.1, auto trans. Also, any info on what trans and axle was in this car. Thanks.

Re: 91 RS to scrapyard
auto = 700r4
ratio is listed on RPO sticker
one of the G codes
if it lists GQ1 then you wont be able to tell by the sticker codes
most of the time these were 3.42 or 3.73 but not always
where is the car located ?
if you have a place to store parts for long term then i suggest pulling lots of goodies from it as a long term investment
non a/c dash and heater parts, dash pad if nice, steering column,
interior panels, trim pieces,
all interior parts that are clean or not broken,
original GM fenders if good,
front bumper cover
aluminum or fiberglass hood or aluminum bumper frames,
working hood or hatch shocks,
doors if clean solid,
any gfx pieces,
RS specific parts
save the 700r4 if it is good it is worth about 150 to 200 depending on who
i am looking for a drum 3.42 or 3.73 axle
good luck
