Rear Axle ID... help.

Hey Guys, I got this axle and was told that it was a ford 9 inch. Thankfully I haven't paid for it yet. It looks like a 9 inch housing and has a drop out center section. But it doesn't have a removeable pinion support housing.... Any body have any idea what this thing is.......?

Later, Kevin

Re: Rear Axle ID... help.

Not a 9". A 9" you need a wrench on the bottom bolts.

I just noticed the non removable pinion. That could be a dodge 8-3/4"

Re: Rear Axle ID... help.

Thanks Stephen, Thats what I thought at first but the 8 3/4s that I have seen have the top 2 bolts close together and a pinion snubber mount above the pinion....

I'll just give it back to the guy tomorrow.

THanks again, Kevin
