rear end ?
i have a fourth gen rear from a 95 fire bird v8 car, and today i went to change the fluid in it and i found that my carrier is junk, the pin that holds the spider gears has sheared the bolt that holds it in place and it has ob longed the hole in the carrier by about 3/8 inch and the pin is "welded" to one of the spider gears, plus the slop in my pinion bearing is starting to wear on my teeth, so i figured its time to upgrade, but whats the best way to go here? i want it to be full posi but i dont know much about rear ends, my friend has one from an s-10 and he said its form a 7.625 10 bolt and he says its a clutch type posi, would this be a direct replacement for my car? if that one wont work, what kind should i look for and from what manufacturer? im just scared that this one wont work because of the gear for the abs thats mounted behind my ring gear, anyone help please?

Re: rear end ?
From what you've posted, if it were me, I'd locate a good used complete 3rd or 4th gen posi rear with the gears you want and just do a swap. A lot less fuss and or potential head and heart ache.
Good luck
