LOSS OF O.D. PARTIAL LOSS OF DRIVE

fluid level is good its a little gritty and smells burnt. i can get a FRESH 700r4 out of a 80's 2x4 suburban.my question is will it bolt up?and is it worth a little body work? please help! id like to do the swap saturday so i wont miss the game on sunday.thanks. oh, my car is a 85 iroc w/ tpi305

Almost.... you'll need to swap extension housings, to keep your torque arm mount.

how hard is it to install a shift kit? and whats a good brand? and would i order it for tha iroc or the burban that the tranny came from? thanks

How hard is brain surgery? For a brain surgeon it's easy; but you don't want me cutting on your brain, you can believe that. Likewise, I can't really tell you "how hard" it is, FOR YOU. It's not heavy or anything, FWIW.

well, i was just informed that the tranny is out of a 95 burban.that would make it a 4l60e... right? will it still work if i change the ???????? thanks guys please try to beare with me idk much about transmissions. i might be looking to do "the 5-speed swap" ?

No, that's "electronically controlled"; doesn't shift by itself, hydraulically, like older transmissions (before the early 90s, more or less), including the ones in these cars; won't work without the right ECM to control it.

You need to get a 92 or older out of a truck for it to bolt up.
