Transmission: 5 speed manual
Axle/Gears: 3.42
4th Gen T5

Hey guys i have a 91 rs covertable with roughly 330 horse can i strap a 4th gen t5 up to this motor to get me by times are hard most everybody understands these times lol

It's highly unlikely that you'd be able to use a 4th gen T5. They have a funky mounting pattern where they bolt up to the bellhousing, and the input shaft is longer IIRC. You could get by with a 3rd gen, V6 T5. They're far from ideal behind a V8, but they will bolt up in place of your existing trans. The only thing you'd have to buy would be a special clutch disc since the V6 trans has a 14 spline input instead of 26 spline. Someone posted the right disc to do this in the trans forum just about a month ago, so a quick search should turn it up. It has the right spline count, and is the correct diameter (10.4") for a V8 application. The ratios in them aren't that great when used with a V8, but the 3rd gen, V6 T5's are cheap and really easy to come by. If money is that tight, that's probably your best option in the short run.
