700R4 Speedo Calibration

So I got tired of looking for information everywhere across the web, and decided to consolidate what I could find. Attached is an excel spreadsheet that will determine the correct driven gear if you input the tire size, drive gear, and axle ratio. All currently known GM gears and sleeves are also listed by part number and color and sleeves are referenced to which driven gears they will work with.
Enjoy,
Dave

Ok, it won't allow me to upload excel files. You can get it here...

Ok, updated the file to include the part numbers for the retainer and o ring seal, as well as a new 20 tooth drive gear.

Now if you can include information for T-5 speedometer gears on sheet 2, it would be complete.

Re: 700R4 Speedo Calibration

Can you explain what the sleeve is? I have a 89 Firebird formula with the electric VSS sensor and am trying to get the right part numbers for the gears to make my speedo correct. Tires are stock 245/50/16 and the rear gear is a 3.27. The original gear was a 2.73 so I assume the drive gear is a 17 red.
I also have a 88 Iroc but it has a speedo cable and I know there is a difference in the drive/driven gears in style. Can you explain? Where cani get the gears? I work at a Chevy store and most of the gears are discontinued.

Thanks, Mark

http://www.transmissioncenter.net/sp...n_______va.htm

They have the gears you need. Scroll down. Yes, the vss uses a different sleeve, but it's almost always the same idea. If you take off the vss (that is to say the sleeve, but for an electric speed) and notice that instead of a drive gear you have a metal ring with ridges on it, you have an inductive setup and need to call up the guys at www.jagsthatrun.com

Re: 700R4 Speedo Calibration

Thanks for the information on the Raptor site. I am glad someone out there supports this stuff. All I need to do is pull out the VSS and see what I have to work with.
