Car: 1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA
Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: GM 9-Bolt
What size rear end on a 88 TA?
Hey just wanted to know what size my diff was on my 88 TA? Thinking about getting a 4.10 gear for it

7.5/7.625 if it's a 10 bolt, 7.75 if it's a 9 bolt. Hope that it's a 10 bolt.

look under the rear of your car and count the number of bolts on the cover of your rearend 10 bolts = 10 bolt 9 bolts = 9 bolt. and to answer a question you might be asking about the guy above is that 9 bolt is harder to find parts for and theyre much much more expensive than the 10 bolt. not sure if they even make those gears for the 9 bolt but on that part i could be wrong since i dont know that much since i have never owned one.
