700 tcc question

im getting a 91 700r4 rebuild and putting it in my 85 camaro and im just wondering what i going to have to do for the tcc deal, i know that i dont want a switch that controls it, so what kit do i need? i want it to lock up on its own, and im really not sure how all the lock up deal works, all ive ever had was manuals, so kinda new to building an auto

Re: 700 tcc question

If your running a computer still there is no reason you cant have it control it like it did before. You will just need to wire it up correctly to your computer. Worst case you may need a chip for an auto transmission.

Nothing.... just plug it in. 85 cars have exactly the same mechanism for controlling it that 91 cars do.

Re: 700 tcc question

well ive read up and i guess i still have some questions

1. when is the converter supposed to be locked? i assume only when im at highway speeds, such as 55 60 65 somewhere in there, am i right?

2. if i am right, then i would rather just have a toggle switch to lock it up and i can just turn it on and off when im doing out of town driving

3. if i do take option number 2, and say im locked and doing 60 and i kick it down and it shifts to 3rd, would i have to unlock the converter? would it hurt anything?
