what pilot bearing is better?

i'm chaanging to a t5. dropped the flexpalte on torque converter. it already has a pilot bearing. i believe its brass and i have the one i bought , a roller bearing. which is better .aslo i bought a flywheel since i didn't have one. told them its for a 85 iroc z. the flywheel didn't fit. the center hole was too big and the bolt holes were in the right places but with thole hole bigger the bolt holes were farther out. don't understand why the great difference.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: what pilot bearing is better?

I personally prefer the bearing kind; but the bushing is fine too. Some other people prefer the bushing. IMO either way, as long as it's new and you put it in right and grease it, it's fine.

Sounds like your engine is a 86-up.... those have the smaller crank flange. It's from when they went to the 1-piece rear main seal.

I installed a standard pilot bushing. I used an 86 305 5 speed TPI. LIKE A GLOVE!
